Second Edition Running Horse: Victoria’s Footprints (February 2022)

Inspiration
I made this pattern using the shape of my daughter’s foot from one of her ultrasounds. For the background texture behind the footprints, I revisited a technique I used in my undergraduate thesis project senior year, where I used watercolor on trace paper and let the water create ripples in the paper as it dried. This technique was fresh in my mind because I had just used it for my 2022 Lunar New Year illustration (Year of the Water Tiger).
First Edition Running Horse: Spooky Groovy Leaves (October 2020)

Inspiration
I was looking to create a fall-themed horse, but something that could carry into November and even December without screaming “Halloween” (but should vibe nicely with Halloween, too). The leaf design is based on ones that fell in my neighborhood, which were green with yellow bleeding out from the center in ripples following the veins of the leaf.
